WHAT ARE SOME OF THE MOST MEMORABLE AND IMPACTFUL MOMENTS AT CONCORDIA IN BAND/MUSIC?
From jazz band at that one auction, the small wind ensemble quintet of 2010, all the way to the combined band, orchestra, and choir, playing in multiple settings and bands throughout high school has definitely been quite memorable and very enjoyable!
HOW DID YOUR INVOLVEMENT IN THE PERFORMING ARTS HELP YOU TO GET WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?
So my work, grad school, and undergrad all did not require me to play any instrument, but I'm sure the skills learned as a performer, musician, listener, and improvising on the spot have definitely had an impact on who I am and what I love to do today. Right now I'm working at a startup and in the lab with 8 other fabulous scientists and engineers and teamwork and communication is definitely key to success.
WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH YOUR PERFORMING ARTS EXPERIENCES/EXPERTISE AS YOU GO FORWARD IN LIFE?
I just make covers and play some songs on piano and sax now. I recently played at a friend's wedding not too long ago.
ARE YOU INVOLVED IN MUSIC NOW?
Just to play sometimes. Maybe once every 2 weeks.
